Operational purchasing and global logistics in a high-tech environment
Ready to play a key operational purchasing role in a global, high-tech supply chain?

Q-Free is a global leader in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). For more than four decades, we have developed technology that improves traffic flow, enhances road safety, reduces emissions, and enables secure, large-scale mobility systems worldwide. Our solutions combine advanced electronics, hardware and software developed by our R&D teams in Trondheim and produced through global manufacturing partners. The systems we deliver operate as payment-critical infrastructure in demanding environments across the globe.
To strengthen our Supply Chain organization, we are now looking for a Purchaser / Logistics Controller to join our logistics team in Trondheim. In this role you will work closely with colleagues, suppliers and production partners both in Norway and Singapore to ensure smooth purchasing processes, reliable deliveries and good control across our supply chain.
This is a hands-on and operational role where you will be an important contributor to ensuring structure, flow, and quality in our day-to-day supply chain activities.
Your role at Q-Free
As Purchaser / Logistics Controller, you will be a part of the Supply Chain (Logistics) team, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support purchasing of all components that go into our complex on-board and roadside tolling systems. You will also work hands on with logistics and follow-up activities across our global operations.
The role combines operational purchasing, supplier follow-up, and coordination tasks, with elements of reporting and analysis.
Key areas of responsibilities
In this role, you will work across several parts of the supply chain. The points below reflect the scope of the role and the areas you will be (gradually) involved in.
Handle day-to-day operational purchasing activities, including registering, sending, and following up purchase requests and orders.
Follow up suppliers and contribute to ensuring reliable deliveries and good supplier performance.
Support incoming goods control and ensure compliance with quality and documentation requirements.
Manage invoice follow-up and support control of supplier agreements.
Contribute to maintaining structured and accurate purchasing and logistics data.
Support reporting and analysis related to purchasing, suppliers, and deliveries.
Ensure that work is carried out in line with established Supply Chain processes and requirements.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure good information flow across functions.
Contribute to sustainable procurement practices and responsible supplier follow-up.
What we’re looking for
The most important thing you bring to the table is experience with operational purchasing, logistics, or similar supply chain activities, combined with a structured and reliable way of working.
Furthermore, we believe you meet most of the following criteria:
Higher education within logistics, supply chain, economics, or similar fields.
Experience with operational purchasing and/or supplier follow-up.
Experience with ERP systems and general Office tools (e.g. Excel).
Strong communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken.
Who you are as a person
You are organized, reliable, and motivated by creating clarity and structure in your work. You take responsibility for your tasks and follow them through to completion. You are comfortable asking questions, learning from others, and contributing as part of a team. You communicate clearly, collaborate well with colleagues and partners. At the same time, you are comfortable working independently and handling your own responsibilities. You enjoy working in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and business units. You thrive in a dynamic environment where many things happen at once, and where your contribution helps create flow and predictability in everyday operations.
Is Q-Free the right fit for you?
At Q-Free, you will join a collaborative and down-to-earth work environment where experienced colleagues are keen to share knowledge and support your development. Supply chain and logistics play a critical role in delivering advanced, society-critical technology worldwide. Whether you have a few years of experience or are earlier in your career, this role offers a solid platform for developing within supply chain and procurement.
What we offer:
The opportunity to work in a global technology company with a strong market position.
A varied and hands-on role in a competent and collaborative team.
Exposure to international suppliers and production environments.
An environment that values structure, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
Flexibility and trust in how you organize your work.
Competitive compensation and benefits.
