To further the growth of Arcast, we are now recruiting an
Application Specialist
The main goal of the application specialist is to function as a link between the product and the market, continuously learning and sharing knowledge. The application specialist will regularly interface with the in-house team and external customers and prospects, fluently switching between the role of teacher, student, and peer.
The role centers on becoming an expert in using the Arcast software and then putting that knowledge to work by supporting customers, showing prospects what is possible, contributing with technical content, and sharing feedback with the development, marketing, and sales teams.
The role
The position is technical in terms of knowing how to use the software and supporting customers in using the software, but it is not a developer role. The role involves communicating with specialists in finance, controlling, and analysis, where you need to strike the right balance between being confident and humble. To succeed in this role, you will need a keen ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences, ensuring that complex and technical subject matters are well understood.
The application specialist will work closely with team members responsible for marketing, sales, support, and development in a collaborative environment where everyone is moving the company in the same direction.
Primary responsibilities include:
Creating and conducting technical presentations and product demonstrations for potential customers to increase visibility and spark curiosity about the software solution
Supporting sales processes through participation in customer meetings
Onboarding new customers
Training and supporting existing users
Acting as a trusted advisor for customers, particularly key users in the Finance department
Contributing with technical content based on field experience and user interaction
Gathering market intelligence and sharing this information internally to ensure that product development and messaging align with market needs
As Arcast is in an active growth phase, there is an opportunity for working on a variety of projects and tasks beyond the primary responsibilities of the role.
Your background and competence
There are many possible routes into this role, but as a baseline you need to be familiar with both the tools and everyday challenges that CFOs, controllers, and analysts face. Further, we think you would be a good fit if you recognize yourself in some or all of the following:
Experience with FP&A specifically and finance broadly
Solid understanding of complex projects and experience with financial planning in industrial projects
Bachelor’s or master’s degree within finance, industrial economics, or similar fields
In-depth experience with Microsoft Excel® and other FP&A tools
Keen interest in B2B software
Background in the energy industry, such as oil & gas or renewables
Commercial mindset and client focus
Business-level English; Norwegian is an advantage
This may be the role for you, if you: enjoy making the complex simple and interacting with people on all levels of the organization; have a sincere interest in creating value for the client and meeting everyone with respect regardless of their position; have proven communication skills; and enjoy learning, teaching, supporting people, and working as part of a team.
What’s in it for you?
Arcast is a spinoff company with a solid foundation and a startup feel. The product has proven its value and is now ready for a larger user base. You will grow with the company and get the opportunity to be a part of an international expansion together with competent and passionate colleagues. The culture is typically Scandinavian where equality, respect, dedication, and community are essential pillars.
